New Releases: ‘The Five-Year Engagement,’ ‘The Raven,’ ‘The Pirates! Band of Misfits,’ ‘Safe’
Last week, "The Hunger Games" dropped from the top place in the box office Countrywide RELEASES "5-Year Engagement" What is the story? Um, a five-year engagement, duh! Within this charming romantic comedy, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt play an engaged couple trying to get married. Clearly, this does not happen immediately, his or her plans for marriage continuously get postponed again and again and also over again. Box-office conjecture: The rom-com "Think Just like a Guy" was number 1 in the box office last week, so "Engagement" will suffer from some competition from that. However, Jason Segel includes a devoted following, and also the film was created by Judd Apatow. $17 million [Showtimes & Tickets] "The Raven" What is the story? In "The Raven," John Cusack plays legendary author Edgar Allan Poe. The film imagines the way the last times of Poe’s existence were spent (they are still a mysterious even today): chasing after around a murderer who’s basing his crimes from the killings Poe has discussed in the tales and poems. Box-office conjecture: Audiences aren’t exactly clamoring to determine an Edgar Allan Poe movie, or, for your matter, anything with John Cusack that does not involve what "Say Anything 2." $9 million [Showtimes & Tickets] "The Pirates! Gang of Misfits" What is the story? Within this animated family film, Hugh Grant plays Sailing Captain, a semi-decent sailing who looks to get his rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) to be able to secure the coveted Sailing of the season award. Box-office conjecture: The children likely will not go as Sailing Captain for Halloween. However, with "Chimpanzee" since it’s nearest competition, "Pirates! Gang of Misfits" will probably score a decent opening weekend haul. $13 million [Showtimes & Tickets] "Safe" What is the story? In "Safe," Jason Statham plays a mma fighter who blows a rigged fight. As punishment, his family eventually ends up killed. After, he involves the use of a youthful girl who’s being chased through the same individuals who wiped out his family, and that he soon looks to obtain redemption and save the girl’s existence. Box-office conjecture: Jason Statham hasn’t been an enormous draw in the box office (unless of course it’s within an ensemble action movie, like "The Expendables"). Pricier anything large out of this. $7 million [Showtimes & Tickets] LIMITED RELEASES "96 Minutes" follows the storyline of 4 kids caught in the center of a carjacking in "Bernie," Jack Black stars within the story of the real-existence Texas murder with a funeral director "Citizen Gangster" is all about a publish-WWI bank thief "The Damaged Tower," written and directed by James Franco, informs the storyline from the late poet Hart Crane "Area 407" follows two siblings whose flight eventually ends up crashes Juliette Binoche stars like a Parisian journalist in "Elles" "The Large Mechanical Guy" features Jenna Fischer falling for any street artist "Headhunters" is all about a headhunter-switched-art crook "Seem of My Voice" features a documentary team carrying out a cult and comic-book legend Stan Lee’s film, "With Great Energy," airs on April 27 at 8pm on Epix.
